United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) has begun its annual funding allocation (and partnership) process for calendar year 2012. Application packets will be available for any community based, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that has provided health and human services to the residents of Nevada County for at least 3 years. Three different applications will become available during the week of February 6th, 2012. The Funded Partner Applications (for UWNC’s current partners who are seeking funding), The Non-Funded Partner Applications (for current UWNC partners not requesting funding this year) and the Affiliate Partner Applications (for those looking to become affiliate partners with UWNC; an Affiliate Partner that remains in good standing for 9 months is qualified to request funding). First 5 Nevada County offers Professional Advancement for Kids Scholarships
PAK Scholarships of up to $300 are available for anyone working in a professional capacity with children 0 to 5 years old in Nevada County; anyone who did not receive a PAK Scholarship last year is eligible to apply for funds this year to help pay for a class, workshop, conference or the like. Nationwide The American Express Philanthropic Program works to support the communities where American Express employees live and work. In the area of economic independence, grants target programs that serve youth, build awareness about career and job options, and educate community members on the basics of business and economics.
